Anyhow, of this week's batch, the Defenders was the most fun read for my adolescent self. The DD story at least had a moody, atmospheric look about it, although as noted Marv is far too wordy, too often putting in words what the art plainly shows. I was still reading Captain Marvel, even if the excitement level had gone done a quantum leap since Starlin's departure. Rick Jones music career always seemed to be a dead-end thing He didn't exactly exude rockstar charisma or singer-songwriter charm. Not sure if anyone could have pulled off Rick going on stage as a gonzo mix of David Bowie & John Denver, or maybe Rick James and Ricky Lee Jones! Fred W.
